Privacy Policy

Tooltron ("we," "us," or "the site") is a browser-based media utility platform. This policy explains what information is collected when you use Tooltron, how it's used, and what choices you have. We've built Tooltron around processing your files locally whenever possible, so there's very little to collect in the first place.

Tooltron does not require registration to use any tool. We don't collect names, email addresses, or passwords, because we don't ask you to create an account.

Features like Your Desk (recent tool history) and Bookmarks work by storing small pieces of data directly in your browser's local storage — not on a Tooltron server. This information stays on your device, isn't tied to your identity, and isn't visible to us. Clearing your browser's site data for Tooltron will reset it.

Most tools on Tooltron — including image compression, resizing, cropping, filters, background removal, and video trimming/compression/conversion — run entirely inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly (including an in-browser build of FFmpeg for video and audio). Tooltron has no server-side upload endpoint for these tools, so the files you process with them are never transmitted to us.

A small number of tools send only the specific input you provide to an external service in order to do their job:

• URL Shortener — the URL you enter is sent to the is.gd shortening service to create your short link.
• QR Code Generator — QR previews for shortened links are generated via api.qrserver.com, which receives only the URL being encoded.

These services are operated independently of Tooltron and are governed by their own privacy practices. We recommend reviewing their policies if you have concerns about a specific piece of data.

Tooltron displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to Tooltron or other websites, and to measure ad performance. This is standard behavior for AdSense-supported sites and is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.

Tooltron is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we'll remove it.

We may update this policy as Tooltron changes. If we make significant changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
